Everyone has had some form of irrational fear, usually dealing with monsters in one’s room, now this is a joke, but I’m not sure where else to share this. Anyways, here is a list of strategies and rules to stop the monsters in your room.
How to Survive Against Monsters
Tactics
Keep all limbs within the confines of your blankets, even if you have to curl up.
Always stay under all of your covers, if it gets too hot, take off your shirt or wear shorts.
Keep your plushies with you at all times, you should always have at least one.
When leaving the restroom at night, always run back to your room, shut and lock the door, and leap onto your bed as quickly as possible.
When leaving your room, grab a flashlight and a blunt object for self defense, just in case.
Close and lock any and all doors, never take chances.
When leaving the room, turn a light on to ward off monsters while you’re gone.
Monsters can attack you during the day, but only if it’s dark enough. Even so, it is very rare.
Close the shower curtain to trap the monster.
Use the shades on windows to prevent a monster from seeing you.
If you walk into your room to find the monster there, scream and run to your parents’ room, the monster will leave after a while. Do not waste time on the way back though, they will still attempt to catch you.
When inside of the shower, you can leave the curtain open so no monster can sneak up on you, or close it all the way so no monster can see you. If you close the curtains, make sure that there are NO CRACKS WHATSOEVER.
Make sure there is no crawl space under your bed, a monster will likely be hiding there.
Monster Rules
Monsters cannot lift your sheets, and they will not attack your head.
If you close your eyes and do not look at the monster, it will not be able to locate you.
A monster will never wait outside of a door to attack you, but rather on the other side of the house.
Monsters cannot leave a shower or bathtub with the curtain closed, but they can enter.
If the lights are on in a room that you must go through in order to reach yours, the monster will not pass through it, that doesn’t mean it won’t get to your room though.
A monster will never attack your parents room. So even if you share a room with a sibling, you are still vulnerable.
If you sleep in the same room as your parents do, they will try and find you, but only if you have your own bed.
Opening a dark closet comes with a high risk of there being a monster inside, even when the room itself is lit up.
*Monsters can enter showers, but cannot exit if the curtain is closed.
I’ll be conducting my first interview tomorrow for a junior level IT position.
I understand what I’m looking for, and will probably hire this guy if he doesn’t just bomb it or weird me out.
I know to be careful with personal questions and what questions are inappropriate/illegal to ask—but I have no formal HR experience.
I’ll try to be personable without being informal.
Any helpful tips or suggestions? My credentials always spoke for themselves, so I haven’t had much experience navigating the nuances of an interview or answering “gotcha” questions.
HIRING MANAGERS: any questions I should ask that people don’t think of?
INTERVIEWEES: anything I should do/say/ask to have a high-quality interview and appropriate experience for us both?
Thanks.
Hi everyone! In the following guide I'd like to share practical tips and tricks on how to write an analytical essay. Hope you'll guys will find it pretty useful as students are frequently given such assignments at college/university. Have a nice day!
I'm trying to isolate music and vocals into separate audio tracks for TV shows, specifically the famous hit cartoon show "Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog". I haven't found any real source for the background music anywhere on the internet, and all tutorials provide unsatisfactory results. Does anybody know a good way of doing this? Could I possibly achieve my goals if I purchase the home video release ala the DVDs?
Thank you for your cooperation.
I'm making a bowtruckle from Harry Potter - basically a little plant guy - but he's not looking very convincing as far as actual living plants go. Does anyone have any tips, tricks, or ideally a tutorial on how to make a fake plant look like a real one?
Hi guys I just got these swear alternative shoes, they’re vintage they stopped making them in the 90’s so they’re 20+ years old. I’ve tried cleaning them and getting in the grooves to get what looks like dirt out with wet wipes. They look great and looks like I’ve gotten it all and then a minute later when they’ve dried they look full of dirt again. How do I go about making these look better? The sole is rubber and then suede and leather up top.
Drinks by the pool, elegant meals and ample relaxation time are just some of the perks of going on vacation. After weeks, months or even years of hard work, being able to get away for time of reprieve is not only good for your mind but also for your soul. When on vacation, people generally like to maximize their enjoyment which can include consuming many less healthy foods than their bodies are used to. This short-term change in eating habits can lead to weight gain therefore the costs of going on vacation can extend beyond your wallet. While you want fond memories from vacation you do not want to tell the tale on your waistline so here two essential tips for losing vacation weight!
Tip 1: Don’t over-react
When you first get home from vacation you may notice that your weight is significantly higher than when you left. Many people will overreact and not eat for days or try and adopt quick fix diets to offset the weight gained while on vacation. This impulsive behaviour is not a healthy way to deal with vacation weight gain and can lead to crash dieting tendencies in the future. Instead, avoid panicking and logically process the root cause of your weight gain. Your weight increase is likely the combination of two things: water and fat. A portion of the weight put on when vacationing is from water retention. When letting loose on vacation, we often eat unhealthy sodium filled meals. Increasing your sodium intake causes more water retention and this water sitting in your cells will cause a higher number on the scale. This weight will be easy to lose once you reduce your sodium intake. The rest of the weight gained will unfortunately be fat. This fat gain will be tackled by tip number 2.
Tip 2: Get back on your plan
After dropping the water weight, your next priority should be to get back on track with your exercise and diet plan. While on vacation, your body has adapted to the increase in calorie consumption as shown by the increase in body weight. The only way your body will keep the newly gained fat on is if you continue to eat at the same calorie level as when you were away. However, as soon as you re-adopt your normal meal plan and exercise regime, you will regulate your calorie intake back to its proper levels for your goal body weight. Essentially if you go back to your normal routine and diet your body will naturally lose that annoying vacation weight. Therefore, there is less thinking involved to losing vacation weight than one may think.
Ultimately, vacations are precious times in our lives to break free from our normal routines and enjoying different foods makes up part of that fun. As long as you don’t overreact in response to a few pounds being added to the scale you will be able to get back into your fitness groove and return to your former physique in no time!

Title says it all... should be pretty interesting- esp for those who want to improve their social skills, charisma, confidence when talking with people. 4 minutes of your time for a lifetime of #nomoreawkwardsilences ;)
Note: It's spoken in Mandarin Chinese, so for those of you who don't speak Chinese, I've included English subtitles to go with the video that are timed perfectly with the dialogue and animations. Yes. Some people feel that subtitles are a hassle. But no. It literally will not make any difference, and you will get the same info out of it. It's absolutely worth watching.
Let me know what you think.
Probably hopeless, as I somehow forgot to put the lid back on the carmex when I was done with it, then proceeded to spend the entire day in the scorching sun at an amusement park and not realize what that stain was until much later in the day. Dumb idea to wear khaki pants to an amusement park, right? I know. I only wear pants, though, and these were my most comfortable ones. I tried washing it and putting dish soap on it but to no avail. it’s a huge spot right near my crotch area and makes it look like i let a little piss out. i’m very bummed about it, these were new pants and they were extremely comfortable. Any help will be much appreciated
Hello all,
I have never painted anything before and I want to do my dad a favor by painting the apartment. I've seen a few YouTube videos with people doing it, but I'm still not confident. If anyone has an easy yet reliable sources on steps I could follow. It would be greatly appreciated. I'm nervous because I've never done this before and I don't want to screw up. I heard prepping is the hardest part.
So I have a space in a basement that just had some construction done and dust has been sitting for weeks. I swept a couple times and mopped up the floors to get rid of some of the dust, it looks like it did was spread the dust around despite the bucket being almost black when cleaning it. I tried using a handheld brush to brush the dust off as well but it also looks like it’s just spreading it. Is there anything I can use to most easily clean these floors?
Here is a picture of the floors after sweeping and mopping: https://imgur.com/a/g0FwoA9
Thanks.
I'm looking at getting a used truck that has some horriblely painted stripes on the hood. I've seen videos of guys using lacquer to remove pinstripes but my concern is that it is an older truck and the paint may be blended. Does anyone have any experience removing something painted on an older car?

Recently a lot of Ants have taken up residence in my house. I find them often on my dinner table and the walls. Sometimes even on my bed. Can someone please suggest some methods to get rid of these Ants. (Tried contacting Ant-Man but he's busy with the Wasp)

As part of my parent's business, we own a self catering unit in a popular tourist city. We've had it for five years and just before opening to the market, we had it renovated and placed tiles with a low-grit sandpaper-like consistency (don't know why).
Problem now is in the kitchen, five years worth of grime has accumulated on the floor and we've tried a lot to get it out. My brother and I have suggested a power washer, but idk if its safe to use indoors and with aging wooden cabinets.
Is there a way to get rid of that ingrained dirt?
I understand this subreddit is meant for posting tutorials, but I'd love some help please.

Hello community, i want to ask a question about mosfet. I want to know current in order to open this mosfet 2N60F via datasheet, in order to choose driver for it. Can anyone help me? p/s: sorry if my bad english make you confuse 😂
Almost completely deflated over the course of 24 hours, but no particular hole or breeze or sound can be heard indicating where the hole is. How can I find it??
We moved my grandmother into a senior care facility today and the movers left about a three inch scratch on her tv. I'm not sure the type of screen (LED or Plasma), all I know is that it's a flat screen and my mother asked me to find a way to fix it. Please help Reddit, you're my only hope!
I am moving oversees very soon and am leaving behind an 18 year old cat to stay at home with my mother. My vet actually recommended leaving some sheets or towels behind that have my scent on them to give to her in case she gets lonely. I’ve decided to do this and want to seal them up to better preserve the scent for her.
My thought was to use either large ziplock storage bags or a vacuum bag that you suck the air out of but I’m not sure which would be better as I don’t know whether sucking the air would help to better preserve it or if it would actually work to remove the scent.
If anyone has any info they could provide I’d appreciate it - even if you have a completely different method as well.
TLDR: Planning to use plastic storage bags to preserve scent on cloth. Need to know whether leaving air or sucking it out is better.
Hi r/howro!
I made a real dummy/rookie move and washed a down comforter without trying to find any instructions first.
Luckily, I knew enough to wash it in a big machine in cold water, but didn't think it could go in the dryer, so I left it hanging in my apartment.
I flipped it and fluffed it at one point, but needless to say. I woke up this morning to find the a lot of the feather still clumped together. I washed it two days ago.
I've looked online and know what to do, but now I'm wondering, should I wash it again, sans soap, and dry it properly, or just try to put it in the drier as is?
Tldr: Is washing my down comforter twice in a row going to permanently screw it up?
I am working on expanding the sites from a business i work for to China, they want to have videos on the site, but when you as example post a video on QQ and import it it turns into FlashPlayer. Any ideas?
Have a nice day!
I have been a nail biter for quite some years now and have really put my foot down and wanted to stop this self destructive behaviour. Please help me reddit
Got a sweet hiking bag from goodwill, but the zippers to the main pocket are stuck fast. Scratches and a bend on the lock loop suggest the previous owner railed on them with some pliers and couldn't get it unstuck. Probably directly leading to my purchase. Anyone know a way to get them back on track?
I hit snooze a bunch of times before I can drag myself out of bed. My husband is even worse ... he will hit snooze for literally hours. How do I break this horrible habit?
So I was talking to my bf last night, went to pee, dropped the phone in the water/pee. I got it quick, wiped it off. Was able to send a text after about an hour. In the meantime I tried the rice idea, left it overnight. Woke up this morning... the screen is white. Can't even shut it off. Tried calling it from another phone, it goes straight to voicemail. Any ideas on what I can do?
(It's an Alcatel "smart phone". Also known as an Obamaphone. Android operating).
Thanks for any suggestions!
So I recently bought some Slate Coasters and I read that you’d have to clean it basically after every use, is there any way to coat it with anything to protect it from water rings?

Hey so I'm not sure if this is the proper subreddit for this but here goes. Let me know if you have any ideas for a more appropriate sub :)
So basically I went to work this morning, opened my locker, left my shit in my locker. Within a couple hours I go back and my lock won't open. I'm 99% sure I used the proper combination :(
My lock is something like this : https://www.masterlock.com/personal-use/product/643D
Any ideas on the easiest way to get through or cut it? not sure how much equipment we have at work Sorry if this is a stupid question ahha I'm complete shit at this type of stuff. I don't mind breaking it as I don't mind buying a new one.
Thanks!!

Long story short; dropped a screwdriver in the bath which has chipped it. Does it need repairing? If so, how is the best & cheapest DIY way?
I am a loner and struggle everyday with being motivated to do things that I wish to do. There is a conflicting thought on my mind which stops me from being what I want. What should I do? However when I am studying or working, I generally succeed at doing it. It's the idle time that's killing me.
I tried my hand at r/homemaking, but I didn't get any answers so I was suggested to try here. Thanks for any insight.
I like hunter green but it's not popular anymore. I've been trying my hand at dyeing plain white sheets to get them that color, and I did get some good advice to mix dark colors to get the dye really dark. However, while that DOES work initially, I can get the sheets that color once it comes out of the bucket, once I wash it it all rinses out :(
I follow the package directions exactly, I use hot water, I let it soak for at least the minimum time, I add salt (the sheets are cotton), and like I said it will get to that color, but the dye won't stay in the fabric.
Does anyone have any advice how to keep that dye in the fabric? IDK what I'm doing wrong. Thanks again for any help.
Not sure if this is the right sub but not sure where else to post it...
The FedEx delivery driver who delivers to my office knows my name (I have to sign for the package all the time), but I never got his name. I’m too embarrassed to ask him because I’ve been working there for a year and a half! I want to know if there is a way to find out, short of actually calling FedEx? He has the same route all the time, and he’s our regular driver. Thanks in advance!

It seems like there are a million and one schools and courses on martial arts/how to resist violently. In contrast, it seems like there isn't a single book out there on how to tactically sneak, hide, and run. Surely there has to be a lot of material out there, if only legacy stuff like that used by the SIS, no?
https://youtu.be/j9YCnxqDWBU Forgive me moderators if I break any rules in this subreddit. I tried my best to put correct information in here. This is my complete guide on how to get started with torrenting, it includes information such as how to set up proxys, download torrents (obviously),how to open them, and all around basic information for people new to torrenting. I believe it has educational benefit for anyone new to torrenting. If you enjoy the video please like and subscribe and if you truly love the video I urge you to share it :).
Been trying to help my parents clean around the house while I’m staying with them for a few months. Several years ago my younger sister bought something similar to this toy car with the intention of repainting it to be a miniature version of the beetle she drives. Well that never happened, it was put on the back porch and it’s been sitting there untouched ever since.
Today while trying to clean off the porch I pushed the car out into the yard and apparently disturbed a yellowjacket nest somewhere in the toy car. I ran back inside the house and watched them swarm around for a bit before they settled down.
The car is most likely garbage at this point from being out in the elements, so with that in mind what’s the best way to kill the nest? Its not somewhere I can see so a spray wouldn’t work. The car isn’t very big, so I was thinking of getting a large plastic bin, setting a bug bomb in the seat part of the car and then set the tote upside down over the car to cover it, and possibly trying to slide the lid of the tote underneath to completely seal it, but not sure I’m brave enough to try that.
But reading online it seems that foggers aren’t always effective on yellowjackets/wasps. Although most of what I’ve read about that pertains to larger areas such as attics.
Any ideas? I’ve managed to go nearly 30 years without ever being stung by a bee or wasp and certainly not looking to start now.
I have a drawer I’d like to remove. Its on a sliding mechanism. And I guess I have to remove the sliding mechanism to remove the drawer. When I pull the drawer all the way to the end and crawl underneath to look at the sliding mechanism, there are two screws visible. Does it sound right that I would only have to remove these two screws on either side, or it it possible that there are hidden screws behind the drawer itself?

So I had built a free standing pull up bar in the middle of my backyard and usually when I go to work theres flys, ants, spiders etc around or on the wood and i'd like to get rid of them. Whats the best type of spray in this situation to prevent them? Thanks
Pretty much what the title says. Let’s just say I want to do some creeping without getting caught without it getting traced to my phone and without anybody being able to find me on “people you may know” or “contacts”
The light for my bedroom fan works fine, but there is no movement in the blades. I’ve read that it could be any number of things, but I wasn’t sure if anyone else had a similar experience. Any suggestions for how to go about troubleshooting this before I have to pay over $100 for an electrician to come out? Hoping it’s a simple fix. Thank you!
I have a few gameplay clips that I want to upload. For context, it’s Fortnite.
So right now what’s happening is that I render the video in Sony Vegas, it’s saved to my computer, then I go into the Instagram App on my computer and upload it from there.
The thing is, it’s not the full video on Instagram. It only shows the character, and not the weapons on the bottom right side. It’s shrinked the normal video into a smaller video in terms of quality and size.
I’ve seen these popular streamers that have the full screen on the video clip, so how do I do it?

Hey reddit,
Have an older style car, oil gauge on top of my radio and a leak occured, no need to explain that I'm not too impressed with myself.
Looking for any tips to help remove the oil from the electronic board. I've had it in dry rice for 36 hours, wiped it down with paper towels and Qtips, am still blowing the 15A fuse upon powering it up.

Does anyone know where I can purchase something similar to this, (2nd pic) that would fit inside a wx550L saw? (with or without the ball) The tool mentioned above is available for $35 on ebay but that seems rather steep.
If this isn't available, is there something I can insert for the reciprotool adapter to make it about half as long as the picture on the left? (without of course just sawing off the top half with the saw...)
Thanks
I have checked the sound and audio settings. every time I access a webinar, no sound comes out. Please help
I have a couple of exposed supports poles in my basement that have weeping rust coming out of them. When I was remodeling the basement I took a wire wheel to the post and cleaned everything up, then I painted with a rust preventing paint, but everything came back after a year or so. How can I remove this for good?
Thanks
Trash bag containing cooking oil leaked, leaving drops along path. Tried dishwashing soap to limited success. Any ideas?
For obvious reasons, karma is a somewhat important part of Reddit. Some people struggle to get any karma because they are either a boring person or not active enough. Lucky for you, you can get Karma without any originality! Here's how you can do it: 1: Find two subreddits that have the same focus, for instance r/cutecats and r/catpics. 2: Find a post that you can basically repost. 3: Repost it on the other subreddit. 4: Repeat. Obviously, this method will piss people off. Remember that it's not my job to make you friends. Have fun!
Got another ant infestation. They seem to be coming from a tiny gap underneath the carpet and the wall of my room.
I've placed Pic Ant Killer Bait near the entrance and along their typical path (most of the ants seem to follow a particular trail).
Unfortunately, they all seem to be ignoring the baits by walking around or on top of it, but rarely in it.
Why aren't these guys attracted to the baits?

I moved last month and got at&t fiber optic internet. They set up the modem in my bedroom but due to some unforseen circums5ances, i need to have my setup in the living room now. The wall jack that goes into the modem looks different than the one in my living room..so can i just switch a couple of things and make it work?
I have five GFCIs in my house. Two are functioning and three are not (read: no power on these three). I suspect the three non-functioning outlets are on the same circuit and the first of these three on the circuit is bad. How do I test these to see which is bad and what equipment do I need to use? I have a multimeter, a receptacle tester, and a "hot" tester (single prong that inserts into one outlet slot and shows if it is receiving power).
I have a digital picture frame that caps out at 1920 x 1080, however the images I have from my DSLR have dimensions of approximately 6000 x 4000. What is the best way to resize these images (preferably more than one at a time)? I am using a Mac.
Thanks in advance for the help!

I want to play an mp3 file while I'm asleep. I could have it play before I go to bed, but I wouldn't be able to fall asleep if I have something playing in the background. But I'm a heavy sleeper and I definitely wouldn't wake up if something was playing in the background while I'm asleep.
I'm thinking may be I can use a software to play something at a certain time next on my laptop or use an app on my phone(iOS) to do this. How would I go about doing this?

I opened my channel almost two years ago. Now I only have limited subscribers and views. I design and make Chinese-style hair accessory. I upload two to three videos on youtube weekly. However, it seems like not a lot youtube users can find my videos. I advertised my channel via Google Ad word before. Unfortunately, I didn't help at all and it cost 6 dollars per day. Please give me some suggestions on how to promote my channel.
I am having a huge problem with weeds! They are growing up around my tree in my yard and also in my back yard and they look like a bush but I think they are weeds. I have tried a mixture of dawn dish soap and vinegar pour on them. I have poured hot water on them. The stems are very thick and I am handicapped so I am not able to cut throw the stems or dig them up. Any suggestions on how to get rid of them? I have tried commercial weed killers to no avail.
Curtain hardware is made to hold weight while looking great, so it makes perfect sense to utilize it for some hanging shelves. This very cute little shelf is sturdy and looks pretty and can be put together in a couple of hours. We've put together 5 easy steps for you to hang your own shelving. Throw your own flare into it! Go wild.
How do I screw curtains into a sheetrock for French doors? I'm inexperienced in this so any explanation is appreciated! What is a sheetrock?

I have 4 lightweight metal kitchen chairs and 3 medium sized boxes. Uhaul has Ubox that’s over $1k (probably end up being more), I got a quote from one moving company that’s over $1300. Moving the things from NJ to Los Angeles. I’d like to keep these chairs as their really cool 50’s diner chairs, but man, not at those rates. Any ideas?

I am considering moving into a house (rental) that has historic oak hardwood floors from 1910. However, I have a dog, and you can see from his 'pathways' he has started to scratch up the fake wood floors I have now. If I move into this house will I be able to keep the floors nice? What do I do? Wax? A ton of rugs? I don't think I can keep socks on my dog all day. Perhaps confine him to two or three rooms, and put rugs down there?

How do I make something that can make my old and bad TV to stream netflix? Something like the amazon fire stick or the roku, so I can turn my regular tv into a smart tv. Thanks, I don’t know if this is the right place to post this but oh well
Hey guys, my roommate has a mischievous cat that likes to get into things, including my closet, and mess with whatever he thinks is his toy. I'm looking to keep him out of my closet without having to close the door to my room (since it gets hot and stuffy if I leave it closed all day) and I have a feeling he'll be able to move any PVC pipe I put in the tracks. The closet doors are made of metal and I'm renting, so I unfortunately can't really drill anything into them or the walls. Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do?

Am I able to just buy paint at the store and DIY it? Does it require an airbrush?
This was a 4 part series showing all steps of the restoration, I'm only posting the last video here.
I have two antique/vintage axes/hatchets which I found at the local antique shop and picked up for $25 for the pair. They looked good quality, but both with a lot of work needed to get them back in action. This will be a 4 part series with a tie back into one of my previous videos. Fourth step is to sharpen these hatchets and test them out by the shaving test, the nail test and the on wood test.
The wood tested is Ash, and is fairly dry, so this is a real-world test, not pine or cedar which is soft and very easy to work.
The goal was to produce 2 quality hatchets which are very functional. They have hand split/made handles, leather sheaths, and a they are CRAZY sharp.
I'm looking forward to putting these to the test in the next projects I work on.
Hope you enjoy!
Dusty
