I’ll be conducting my first interview tomorrow for a junior level IT position.
I understand what I’m looking for, and will probably hire this guy if he doesn’t just bomb it or weird me out.
I know to be careful with personal questions and what questions are inappropriate/illegal to ask—but I have no formal HR experience.
I’ll try to be personable without being informal.
Any helpful tips or suggestions? My credentials always spoke for themselves, so I haven’t had much experience navigating the nuances of an interview or answering “gotcha” questions.
HIRING MANAGERS: any questions I should ask that people don’t think of?
INTERVIEWEES: anything I should do/say/ask to have a high-quality interview and appropriate experience for us both?
Thanks.
