This is a picture of the sink if that helps.
This has happened a few times since we've lived at this apartment complex. They have fixed it in the past, but it keeps happening. I use the garbage disposal, but I never dump grease down the drain. But I've decided to stop using the garbage disposal all together now, as I'm thinking it may be faulty.
In the past, one of maintenance guys told us it may have come from the people upstairs. The other times they had no idea what was causing it. The maintenance guy today told us that we must have put something down the drain. He messed with the pipes underneath the sink and drained the water that was in there, found a few grains of rice, but that was it. He said he'd come by tomorrow to check on it, but an hour after he left it started backing up again.
It never happens when I'm washing dishes, it's always spontaneous. A few months ago it just kept filling up and up and we had to take pitchers and continuously dump it in the toilets until the maintenance guy showed up. One time we came out in the morning with the sink over flowed and water covering our kitchen. I'm tired of calling the maintenance guys at 3am when it starts overflowing, and i'm tired of mopping my kitchen floor.
Is there anything we can do to resolve this?
