I'm a new homeowner and my wooden front door gets direct sunlight all day. It needs refinished but I'm not sure what to use that will withstand the heat it will get from the rest of this season and with years to come.

I'm not opposed to painting it, but I feel that a stain would last longer than most paint.

There's a glass storm door as well, which I'm sure adds to the damage from the sun it gets all day, but should protect it pretty well when the rain comes. It does not by any means seal shut all the way though, so it may get wet during rain. We'll have to wait and see.

I recently lost my go to person that I would normally ask about DIY projects so I feel like I'm just taking a shot in the dark with most things on the house.

Sometimes it turns out good, sometimes, not so good. Hah. I'd love to only do this one once though! Any advice is greatly appreciated!
