Buying a house, the previous owners painted the original pine floors throughout the entire house. I am wondering how I would go about getting this paint off and refinishing the floors. The house was built in the 30's, so the floors are pretty old, and we really want to find the best way to remove the paint while doing as little damage as possible to the floors. Only existing posts I could find were for removing small amount sof paint like splatter, not completely painted floors.
ALso wondering the best way to stain Pine once we get the paint off, I have read pine doesn't stain as well as other woods, so I'm wondering if anyone knows some good tricks or specific refinishing treatments that wirk well with pine.
