I feel like I keep having the same interview over and over. I’ve been working 8 years in this industry, getting my MBA, top performer, and in my company’s management training program. I try to take leadership roles in cross-divisional work. Every interview I’ve gone into for sales management (moving from field sales), within my company and outside, says, “Everything looks great. My only hesitation is you not having direct sales management experience.” Passed on four roles now. What else can I do? I feel like I’ll never get over this catch-22 of wanting direct experience but never getting the opportunity to do so.
